Grand vin

The term is commonly used in Bordeaux and refers to the main wine sold under the famous, well-known estate name. Grand Vin refers to the primary wine produced by a winery, usually of the highest quality. These wines represent the best grapes and the most meticulous production process, making them the prestigious products of the winery.

Wines excluded during this process are categorized as second, third, and sometimes even fourth wines and are sold under different brands.
