The vineyard is located near the village of Saillans in the appellation of Fronsac covering an area of 20 hectares. The average age of the vines for this 2003 vintage was 36 years. The varietal composition is 84% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 12 months in oak barrels with 30% new wood of the Allier type.
The wine has a dark colour in shades of ruby with a deep purple tinge. The aroma is rich and intense with a distinctive note of blackberries and dried blueberries. The palate is dry with a dense dose of tannins that are already partly velvety. The reason for importing this wine is the incredible display of earthiness that amazed us at the first sips.

Château Villars
The origins of Château Villars date back nearly 200 years. Château Villars has remained in the same family for over seven generations. Currently, the vineyard spans nearly 30 hectares, double its original size. Over the last 20 years, the quality of the wine has improved significantly through the application of modern oenological principles, making it one of the most renowned wines of the appellation.
The vineyard's soil is clay-limestone, known for its ability to produce wines with great aromatic diversity and remarkable elegance on the palate. Since 1978, the wines have been aged in oak barrels, one-third of which are replaced with new ones each year.
