Deep, dark, opaque and ruby/purple in colour. The aromas are predominantly savoury with fleshy marmite notes overlaying the dark fruit. The palate starts with fresh acidity and delicious uplifting red fruit, supported by abundant, soft, velvety textured tannins. There are pronounced meaty aromas and pure cedar notes overlaying the fruit. The alcohol is balanced and the fruit retains a lovely vitality through the long finish.
The wines from Château Sociando-Mallet have the classic style and structure of Médoc wines.

Château Sociando Mallet
This winery is located on the left bank of the Bordeaux wine region, in the commune of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, north of Saint-Estèphe. Despite its classification as only 'Cru Bourgeois' (in recent years, it hasn't carried any classification), the wines produced here are of exceptional quality. The former owners were against the château being included in the 1855 classification, but today, tasters often rank it on the level of a 2ème Grand Cru Classé.
The average age of the vines is 35 years, composed of 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 54% Merlot, and 4% Cabernet Franc.
