Château Moulin Haut-Laroque
Château Moulin Haut-Laroque is a historic winery in the Fronsac appellation in Bordeaux. The name of the winery refers to a mill that once stood on its grounds and the Hervé family, who have owned these lands since the early 17th century. Interestingly, the oldest preserved bottles date back to 1890, and several of them are still in the family's possession.
The 16-hectare vineyard is situated on slopes with clay-limestone soils, ideal for growing vines. It is planted with Merlot (65%), Cabernet Franc (20%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%), and Malbec (5%), with an average vine age of 50 years. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, 40% of which are new each year, contributing to its balance and complexity. Château Moulin Haut-Laroque wine is characterized by a dark ruby color and aromas of dark fruit, spices, and vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied with well-balanced tannins and a long finish. Due to its complexity and structure, it is suitable for immediate drinking as well as aging.
Château Moulin Haut-Laroque is an exemplary Bordeaux winery that combines traditional vinification methods in wooden vats with modern technologies to achieve the highest quality. The vineyards are managed sustainably and with respect for the environment. Their wines are sought after by lovers of quality Bordeaux wines worldwide and regularly receive awards at international wine competitions. The winery offers tours and tastings for visitors, making it an attractive destination for wine enthusiasts.
