The estate was purchased in 1827 by Jean-Baptise, a distant ancestor of the author of The Little Prince, Anthony de Saint-Exupéry. In the 1960s, the winery experienced a significant decline, when the proceeds from wine sales were only enough to buy a modest television set. For the last half century, the third member of the dynasty, Jean-Luke Zuger, has ruled over Malescot. He and his team have followed ancient principles and methods combined with new ideas. Fermentation is slow and long, the must is fermented in vats with matolins and pumped over a mash hat during fermentation. The metallic flavour that the Malescot Saint-Exupéry wine acquires only after long ageing is almost unique.

Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry

The estate was purchased in 1827 by Jean-Baptiste, a distant ancestor of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the author of 'The Little Prince.' In the 1960s, the winery experienced a significant decline, where the proceeds from wine sales were enough only to buy a modest television. For the last half-century, Malescot has been under the control of Jean-Luc Zuger, the third member of his dynasty. He and his team adhere to ancient principles and methods, combined with new ideas.

Fermentation is slow and lengthy, with the must fermenting with the skins in vats, and during fermentation, the juice is pumped over the cap. The metallic flavor that Malescot Saint-Exupéry wine acquires after long aging is almost unique.
