The estate was purchased in 1827 by Jean-Baptise, a distant ancestor of the author of The Little Prince , Anthony de Saint-Exupéry. In the 1960s, the winery experienced a significant decline, with the proceeds from wine sales only enough to buy a modest television set. For the last half-century, the third member of the dynasty , Jean-Luke Zuger, has ruled over Malescot. He and his team have followed ancient principles and methods combined with new ideas. Fermentation is slow and long, the must is fermented in vats with matolins and pumped over a mash hat during fermentation. The metallic flavour that the Malescot Saint-Exupéry wine acquires only after long ageing is almost unique.
A sharply cut, powerful wine with flavours of both red and black fruits and clear potential in its expressive, quality finish.
