The owner of the winery is Jean - Michel Cazes from Chateau Lynch Bages in Pauillac. In 1981 he invested heavily in this winery and had new stainless steel vats installed. This has significantly increased the quality of the wines from good to sensational. The wine is aged in barrels for twelve to fifteen months. This relatively inexpensive wine is a pretty good equivalent of a good Cru Classé.
Les Ormes de Pez in the 2006 vintage is one of the most typical wines of the St. Estephe appellation . Uncompromising, yet unexpectedly ripe tannins complement the fruity richness of the taste.
