Château Haut Bages Libéral
Château Haut-Bages Libéral is a certified organic and biodynamic wine producer in Bordeaux, within the Pauillac appellation, making Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant red wines. It is one of the 18 estates considered a Fifth Growth (5ème Cru) in the 1855 Médoc and Graves classification.
The vineyards cover 30 hectares and are planted with 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. The plots are located in several places in Pauillac. Two parts of the plots are located next to Château Latour, at the winery and château, and the third plot lies further inland near Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste.
The grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with the temperature checked every three to four weeks. The wine then matures in oak barrels, 40% of which are renewed annually.
