Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou

Château Ducru Beaucaillou is located in the Saint-Julien appellation in Haut-Médoc in Bordeaux on the so-called 'left bank' of the Gironde River. The château and its grand vin were designated as 2nd Cru in the Bordeaux classification of 1855. Since 1995, this château has also been producing a second wine called La Croix de Beaucaillou.

The wine from this château is often described as a typical wine from the Saint-Julien appellation. Deeply colored and very ripe, yet balanced and harmonious. The grand vin usually requires 10 years of aging and can last for decades. In excellent vintages, both the grand vin and the second wine are among the leaders in the Saint-Julien appellation.

The vineyard covers 75 hectares. The distribution of varieties is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot.

A very interesting dry wine with a hint of flavour with a combination of chocolate, ripe plums and cherries....
