Expert review: 'The fragrance is elegant, fruity, delicious and offers a delicate creamy sensation and a little richness. It reveals hints of raspberry, strawberry and small hints of crushed raspberry coupled with very discreet hints of vanilla; notes of violet and caramel can also be detected. The palate is fruity, well balanced and offers a juicy/slightly acidic framework, enjoyment as well as dynamism. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy blackberry, fleshy/juicy raspberry and small hints of violet coupled with light touches of bourbon vanilla, nutmeg, sweet mild tobacco and sweet spice/caramom. The tannins are well built and elegant. Good persistence with a subtle hint of coffee." 93 points out of 100, VertdeVin
Château Clos Manou
Françoise and Stéphane Dief produced their first vintage of Clos Manou in Médoc in 1998. They sought suitable soil with a high vine density of around 10,000 vines per hectare. After purchasing 4 hectares of cru artisan classified land and 7 hectares of cru bourgeois, their vineyard area gradually expanded from 0.12 hectares to 18 hectares. The entire harvest is handpicked.
The wine matures for 17 months, 70% in new French oak barrels and 30% in 700-liter concrete eggs for 12 months.
