Cantemerle dark, strong and smooth at the end. Deep, dark but not completely opaque ruby red colour. A classic Bordeaux nose of dusty black fruit (blackberry-maline). The palate shows jammy fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry). The excellent acidity gives the tannins a real crunch. The alcohol is balanced to warm and the finish is long. Consistently one of the best possible purchases in terms of value for money.
This wine comes in a 1.5 litre bottle called Magnum. The Magnum size is perfect for a gentleman's night out, for example.

Château Cantemerle
Château Cantemerle is one of the first grand cru classé estates from Bordeaux. It was classified as a Fifth Growth (Cinquième Cru Classé) in 1855. The château’s history dates back to the 14th century when it served as part of the line of fortifications protecting the shores of the Médoc.
The estate is currently managed by Philippe Dambrine and belongs to an insurance company. The vines are cultivated on 87 hectares, divided into three roughly equal parts, which are alternately left fallow to allow the soil to rest before being replanted with a different grape variety. The wine ages for 12 months in oak barrels, with 30% being new.
Cantemerle wine consistently represents one of the best possible purchases in terms of quality/price ratio.
