A rich and structured wine from an exceptional vintage in Bordeaux. It has a dark ruby color and complex aromas dominated by ripe black fruits, licorice, spices and subtle notes of smoke and cedar. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with firm tannins, excellent acidity and a long, layered finish. Great potential for archiving and ideal with strong dishes such as beef steak or game.
Château Beauséjour Cuvée "1901" is a premium wine from vineyards planted in 1901. These old vines, with their deep roots, draw minerals from the lower layers of the soil, giving the wine exceptional complexity, intensity, and a unique terroir. The wine is a harmonious blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc, providing a balance between fruity freshness and structural depth. Hand harvesting, meticulous grape selection, and aging in new oak barrels add delicate notes of vanilla, spice, and elegance. With limited production and outstanding reviews from critics, Cuvée "1901" ranks among Château Beauséjour’s most exclusive wines, ideal for cellaring and exceptional occasions.
Château Beauséjour
Château Beauséjour is located on the left bank of the Dordogne River, atop the hill of Montagne Saint Émilion. This château perfectly exemplifies the appellation, thanks to both its impressive and prestigious building and the excellent location of its vineyard.
All vineyards are situated on the summit of Montagne hill and are laid on a limestone base with chalky-clay soil. The plots are positioned on a gentle slope with southern and southwestern exposure, allowing for natural drainage and sunlight.
The age of the grapevines (some plots were planted in 1901, 1902, 1934, and 1946) and the exceptional chalky-clay soil produce distinctive wine ideal for long aging.
