In Beauregard they use a traditional varietal composition. Merlot gives elegance and fruitiness to the wine and Cabernet Franc, which is often very discreet in the first years, adds freshness and nobility to the wines over time.
In the 2006 Château Beauregard, the Merlot took the form of a walk in a dense and dark forest. Darker and a little sharper than ever, with a nice structure and noticeable, well-integrated tannins.

Chateau Beauregard

Château Beauregard is a wine estate located in the Pomerol appellation in northeastern Bordeaux, on the right bank of the Dordogne River, neighboring Saint-Émilion.

The history of the estate dates back to the 12th century when the Knights of Malta established a small settlement here, formerly an inn on the route from Saint Jacques to Compostela. In the 17th century, the Beauregard family built a grand structure here, which was replaced during the Napoleonic era by the current residence, designed by one of Victor Louis's pupils. This elegant 18th-century château bears witness to the history of this cru, harmonious and charming as we know it today.

The vineyards of Château Beauregard occupy positions on the southern slopes of the famous and beautiful terroir from Catusseau to Pomerol, mainly composed of gravel and clay. At Beauregard, traditional grape varieties are used. Merlot adds elegance and fruitiness to the wine, while Cabernet Franc, often very discreet in the first years, gives the wines freshness and nobility over time.
