Since the completion of the new cellar, Pichon Baron has been a complete sovereign. Year after year, it produces top-quality, shoulder-shaped, rich and extremely powerful wines. This time, he added an optical sorter to the technical advances, which was perhaps not even needed - the perfect work in the vineyard, which this year included lightening, de-leafing of the vines on the eastern side of the "cooler" parcels, brought to harvest perfectly healthy and ripe grapes.

Château Pichon Longueville Baron
Château Pichon Longueville Baron (known as Pichon Baron) is located in the wine region of Pauillac. Pichon Baron was classified as one of the fifteen Second Growths (2ème Cru) in the original Bordeaux wine classification of 1855. Château Pichon Baron was once part of a larger estate, which, along with Château Pichon Comtesse de Lalande Longueville, belonged to Pierre de Rauzan. In 1850, the estate was divided into the two current Pichon properties. In 1987, the French insurance company AXA bought the winery and immediately appointed Jean-Michel Cazes of Château Lynch-Bages as its manager.
The grapes are harvested by hand and ferment for 20 to 30 days at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks of various sizes. The wine then matures in oak barrels for 20 months, 80% of which are new.
The Grand vin is prized for its combination of strong dark fruit, finesse, elegance, and ability to age for many decades.
