Croix Mouton is a fantastic wine. Thanks to older vines than those used in its younger brother Le Conseiller, for example, it has great depth of flavour and perfect balance. The delicate fruitiness (blackcurrant, cherry, plum), perfect tannins and the natural strength of the alcohol, which has reached respectable levels, make this bravura wine the clear flavour hit of the vintage. The Croix Mouton was aged for nine months in barrels (half new and half one year used).
This wine comes in a 9 litre bottle called Salmanazar. The contents of the bottle are equivalent to 12 bottles. The size of the Salmanazar is ideal for a variety of larger celebrations. Salmanazar was the King of Assyria.
This wine is packaged in the original wooden box with the winery logo.

Château Croix Mouton
Château Croix Mouton is part of the portfolio of the renowned winemaker Jean-Philippe Janoueix, who also owns other wineries in the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, Pomerol, Saint-Georges, and Saint-Émilion areas. The vineyard covers 70 hectares and is planted with Merlot (97%), Cabernet Franc (2.5%), and Petit Verdot (2.5%). The average age of the vines is forty years. The vineyard promotes biodiversity by allowing grass to grow between the rows of vines, which supports insect life and improves water absorption into the soil. Harvesting is done by hand, with a strong emphasis on quality.
Experts consider Château Croix Mouton wine to be one of the best buys in Bordeaux, given its price.
