"Black cherries, espresso and red plums show nicely in this finely textured, supple, fresh wine full of red fruit. The finish is a bit oaky, but there's more than enough fruit to balance things out nicely. Give it a year or two of bottle age and it should be even better. Drink from 2022 to 2032." - 90/100, Jeff Leve, 2022, The Wine Cellar Insider

Chateau Cap Saint Georges

Château Cap Saint George is part of Jean Philippe Janoueix's portfolio, who owns several vineyards on the right bank, in the areas of Pomerol, Saint-Émilion, and Bordeaux Supérieur.

The estate was purchased by Jean Philippe Janoueix in 2014, which also marks the debut of their first vintage. Although the first vintage produced by the new owners is relatively recent, the vineyard has one of the longest histories in the area. As evidenced by findings, the site was cultivated by ancient Romans nearly 2,000 years ago.

Two vineyards totaling 19 hectares have an excellent southern and southwestern exposure with long daily sunlight (which is essential for perfect grape ripeness). Château Cap Saint George perfectly fills the price range between Château Croix Mouton and La Confession. The clay, limestone, and chalk-rich soil is excellent for the Merlot variety, which has a dominant presence in this wine (91%).
